23rd of December 2007 - Christmas Meeting
A meeting just before Christmas inside the beautiful christmas atmoshpere of nicosia and the crowd of cypriots buying gifts! We had some coffee, discussed about the new forum, the concert and the tiles and then lunch. Afterwards we went in the middle of the busiest street, Makariou and had a big woojie, screaming out loud to the world that the youth wants peace! Our woojie was fimled and shown on the nights RIK news.

20th of October 2007 - Larnaka Meeting
Around 20 Bold Leaders joined together in Lanaka and had a great time. During our Baywatch Woogie, a photographer was really interested in BLs and was taking pictures during the woogie! He asked us if we are an international program and if we are going to have another "show" in Cyprus to come. He was really amused! So we succeded in attracting someone's interest and curiosity.

8th of September 2007 - Nursuring Home Project
A very unique meeting. The Bold Leaders visited a house in the north and talked to the old people staying there. Sometimes, we became old like them and talked about past and families; smiling and being touched. Sometimes they became teenagers like us and sang songs, said traditional Cypriot words; laughing and clapping. They became very very happy too see some -responsible of humanity- teenagers to visit them and take care of them. We became happy to see them becoming very very happy because of us...

4th of September 2007 - Limassol Meeting

26th of August 2007 - Yatch tour in Kyrenia, First August 07 meeting
What a better way to welcome another group in our family than a yatch tour? Swimming, enjoying the sun, going around the island in a boat and then a small workshop with small introductions and discussions about the next projects.

27th of July 2007 - Larnaca Meeting, First July 07 meeting
This was the first meeting of the new boldleaders joining the family. We had a fun time by the sea and in a restaurant nearby and then we discussed about the upcoming projects the yatch tour and the rock concert and also introduced ourselves old bold leaders to new.

26th of November 2006 - Meeting With Cozie's Dad
Cozie's Dad accepted to give us a tour along the green line and talk with us about his experiences there. It was very interesting listening to his personal view of the history, the way he lived it. He shared a lot and inspired us a lot. As he said cyprus history was hurtful for both turkish speaking cyprus and greek speaking cypriots. That is the real history and we need to learn from it. We would really like to thank him for this great oppurtinity.

17th of September 2006 - Walking in the North Nicosia
Due to yesterdays party not many people achieved to wake up so the small group that gathered in Ledra palas decided to postpone the meeting with izzet izcan, in mofru for a later day with larger presence. So we walked around in North Nicosia, went to a cafe and then later for lunch.

16th of September 2006 - Clubbing at Bling
The Bold Leaders were invited at the opening of the Bling Club and they were present of course. We always know how to have fun and that's what we did! A great night, although really tiring!

9th of September 2006 - Simple Starbucks Meeting
We wanted to have a simple big meeting before the beggining of school homework, tests and all that hard rutine and that's what we had! Bold Leaders from 04,05,06 everywhere, Mcdonals, Starbucks, Ledra Shops talking, playing cards, shopping, having fun! Goodbye summer, back too school!

1st of September 2006 - Get-to-know the Bold Leaders presentation
Old and new Bold Leaders gathered at the American Academy Nicosia to get to know each other better and bring the family closer together. We had a presentation where pictures of each Bold Leader of the 04, 05 and 06 camps were shown and some of us presented them. After about one hour and a half hours we walked downtown to McDonalds to eat and just talk. Then we decided to walk to a cafe in the rain!!After we got there we discovered that it was closed! We were stuck there until it stopped raining. When it did we went to another cafe right across the street from where we were and we played cards, tavla and drunk lots and lots of coffee!

18-19th of August 2006 - Limassol clean-up, swimming and sleep over
About 25 Bold Leaders gathered in Limassol near the Catholic Church and had fun cleaning up a small area over there by collecting rubbish from the grass and the beach. We then headed to Goodys walking in the burning heat which made us all sweaty! We had lunch there and then enjoyed ourselves swimming in the beach nearby. Afterwards, we sat and had a refreshing drink in the nautical club and then we had fun in the beach joking and woojieng. Late in the afternoon, half of the people left and the rest stayed for an unforgettable sleep over. We all met and had dinner at Pizza Hut and then walked in the busy streets of Limassol visiting clubs like Galatex or cafes like Cheesecake. Later we went to the Limassol people houses and stayed awake till late gossiping and discussing our experiences from Colorado. The following morning we all met at Ody’s house where we had fun joking and watching a DVD movie. We all left well after noon. It was just amazing to spend so much time with Bold Leaders and the meeting just rocked!

16th of August 2006 - Searching for our Dream Place
A group of about 10 bold leaders went over to ledra palas buffer zone searching for the perfect place to become our dream place. We saw several building that could be suitable for that. Also we got some information from the Nicosia Master Plan lady about the procedure we should follow to find out if there is an available place. After this we headed to Starbucks for a cofee.

11th of August 2006- Meeting at Biiz Cafe, Group Discussion
We were supposed to meet mr. Serdar Dektash but due to some problems that appeared we cancelled that and decided to have a group talk to restore the turst in the group. We first had a lunch at Biiz Cafe while we were talking in smaller groups and then we went to a different cafe for a coffee. We sat on a long table and one-by-one was talking, discussing what he feels about the subject of meeting politicians. We reached some conclusions about how meetings should be organised and what do we want to do as a group. It was for sure a really helpful meeting.

4th and 5th of August 2006 - Glapsides (kind of..:) Meeting
Although the glapsides meeting is supposed to be for all the bicomunal groups all over Cyprus to meet each other, due to some last minute problems this time it was only Bold Leaders. Bold Leaders are always everywhere even if they are going to be by themselves. So we swam, had lunch, talked, played, danced, and then more swimming. It was just beautiful!

3rd of August 2006 - Nicosia Meeting @ Starbucks and Mcdonalds
Although the plan was a play day with refugee kids from Lebanon, due to not finding kids, we decided to still grab the chance and see each other! We all met at Ledra Palace and after half an hour of hugging and kissing we walked to Ledra Street all together. There we had lunch at McDonalds glad to be at a place with air-conditioning because outside it was really hot. Afterwards we went for coffee at our favourite Starbucks! While enjoying our frapuchinos we joked, laughed and had fun. We didn’t miss the chance to take lots of funny pictures of us and also hang around in groups along the Ledra Street shops. We had a nice bold time! Simple and beautiful

26th of July 2006 - First Meeting of BL'06, Escape beach Kyrenia
About 35 people, old and new joined on this meeting to have a great day. We travelled with a bus from the check point to a Kyrenia beach called Escape where we had a great time in the water swimming, water-volleying, chatting, gossiping.. Then we had a lunch at the restaurant there and enjoyed the water for a little bit longer until 4 that we had to leave the place. In the bus heading to the check-point we had a small chat about what are we doing next to get this thing moving!

28th of June 2006 - Lunch at Nicosia after the BL 06 Orientation
Before the departure of our beloved peer leaders we wanted to do a last meeting to give them our wishes for a nice trip and our requests for them. We had a lunch at Goodies, after walking from place to place under the hot sun and finding everything full! And then it started raining like it had never raned before on May.. maybe its because we had family meeting at last. Some walking, some starbucks coffee, some shopping and back to ledra palas and ugly reality.

1-7th of May 2006 - Michael in Cyprus
Michael finally decided to visit the island that has been working on it for so long. He visited almost every city and saw and talked to Bold Leaders from 03,04,05 and he even saw some of the new bold leaders that are going in June for their training. We arranged for him several cypriot dinners at restaurants, picnics, dancing etc. Hopefully he enjoyed and he will come soon again :)

10-18th of March 2006 - Jim in Cyprus
Jim travelled all way from America to see our beautiful island for which he had heard so much and visit the bold leaders all aroud it. He visited Nicosia, Kyrenia, Famagusta, Pafos, Limassol, had some really good discussions with the bold leaders, and much fun trying our fabulus "mezes"! Have a safe trip home jim.. and we are waiting for you to come again!

11th of February 2006 - Bowling at Nicosia
Instead of going just for coffee we just thought it would be better if we did something else.. Like play bowling! It was really fun actually! Nicolas and Anastacia appeared to be our bowling talents ;) And before that we had a lovely meal at Aulogiros and Mcdonalds. Another lovely meeting!

7th of January 2006 - Christmas Meeting
Since we hadn't seen each other for a long time all we needed was a place to sit and talk..Starbucks! We completely took over all the place there and talked, laughed, wrote in Michael's Birthday present, took pictures..! Many people from far away made it there, which made the whole meeting even better. After Starbucks we went to Goodies for a meal and the people that were left in Nicosia had a very nice time at one of it's famous Nights Clubs.

27th of November - Trust March
Seven Bold Leaders participated at the trust March oragnised by YEP (Youth Encounters for Peace). Greek Cypriots started the march from Ayios Lazaros church, met the Turkish Cypriots at the mosque and all merged together and marched for about 10min more holding some beautiful signs about trust between two communities. After that a small ceremony followed. A lovely event.. hopefully much more will follow!

20th of November - Famagusta Clean Up Project
One of the biggest and most succesful meetings we ever had! We were BOLD as always gathering trash and cleaning up some of our historical heritage. We surely left that place cleaner than we found it. We finished our cleaning process by doing the woojie of course! Afterwards we had a very nice meal, chatted, laughed and took many-many pictures.

29 of October 2005 - Kyrenia Meeting
Tahsin organised a fantastic meeting, despite the fact that only 8 bold leaders made it. We hiked the Hillarion Castle, reached the peak (732m!) and woojied there. Then we ate a delicious meal and walked next to the harbour trying to avoid the waves. We visited the beautiful Bella Pais, Tahsin's Market and then headed back to Nicosia. A very nice meeting, very well oragnised!

Seeking the Truth.. - 1/10/05
This meeting was consisted by two parts actually. Everybody brought some friends with him, and Angel and Leon did a workshop for them. It was a combination of our workshops in America: Prespectives, Possibility Walk, All my family who has, Discussion about why we are like that now etc. A really reamarkable workshop and the prespectives heared very interesting. Afterwards we had a meal at Pizza Hut and headed back to the conference room for the second part of the meeting: History. A Turkish Cypriot teacher talked to us generally about how history affects people and what did they included in the new History books. Afterwards he kindly answered all our questions with cemre translating (:)) After that we acknowledged the teacher and had a history woojie! An amazing meeting which left us with much more knowledge..

1 of September 2005 - Limassol Beach Clean Up
Alex wanted to make a meeting with a cause, cleaning a beach! So that was what we did! We gathered there at about 12-12.30 and started cleaning the are in front of the restaurant from trash. We continue like this until 13.30 when we felt hungry.. So it was time for some rest, food, tavli/tavla and music! After that we dived into the wavy sea, swim, woojied and had lots of fun!

27 and 28 of August 2005 - Bicomunial Camp at Famagusta
Camping next to the sea, seeing the sunrise, next to your bold leaders family and to new friends from all the bicomunial groups of cyprus.. Just great! Swimming in the sea, singing with the guitars, eating at the restaurant, dancing at the disco, sitting around the fire, no sleeping :P... Just magical! Thank you Asya for this chance.

18 of August 2005 - Meeting at Limassol
Another great meeting.. just for fun! We played some billiard and with the little football game. Had a walk over limassol and a great traditional cypriots lunch.. and then we went to Andys house where we watched Harry Potter 3 (Yay =)) We also had the chance to meet some of the Bold Leaders of 2004 which was great!

9 of August 2005 - Questions to Mehmet Ali Talat
On the 9th of August we had a meeting with the Turkish Speaking Cypriot'S Leader. All the Bold Leaders showed their courage and boldness once again, by asking him shocking questions about the turkish army, the "ghost" city famagousta, peoples beliefs, symbols and flags etc. He also agreed to help us with our dream for a Youth Centre at Ledra Palas! A very powerful meeting for sure =) It would be objectionable to forget to acknowledge Deniz for all the hard work she did arranging this meeting! Go Deniz, and go Bold Leaders!

"If new generation could give shape to the future:"
Here is an e-mail that I got: "I'm writing these lines as Bold Leaders 2005 that took place in Colorado, USA with 24 people of our community and 24 of other community. All our students want is to share their experiences with you and your readers and to show their opportunities about how to be a leader. If you give one hour of your intensive time to them, they will be great. I want you to have a meeting with them, and see their eyes' brightness and our successful new generation. If you give this chance to them, you will add to their development."

I said OK without thinking. As they were too many people we select Commerce Associations Building. I had meetings before with the new generation of the two communities but this was the first time that I had a talk with a both communities as a group. When I entered the hall they showed me their enthusiasm. At first I didn't speak to them and tried to distinguish who were TSCs and who were GSCs but I was wrong for all of them. I didn't meet with these people before and when I said someone this is TSC he/she was GSC. So I couldn't separate them.

I saw their self confidence and strong body language from their eyes. Here is the very important part: they don't want to be leaders as our current leaders. They want to build a new Cyprus without past, they just want a future.

One of the young people said: "We did so many things that we never thought we could do in 3 weeks. We didn't do all those activities for just doing sports, we did them for trusting each other and we gained some tricks that will help us in our rest life. The most important thing we learned was doing something as a team with two communities." said and she finished her speech with this sentence: "No one can explain to you what we did because words aren't enough. We lived real love and friendship. You can't tell these to anyone but only feel them because these feelings are universal. We want a life in a unified Cyprus."

I asked the young people so many questions. I asked why Americans prepared this camp and one TSC's answer was interesting: "In Cyprus some people say that Englishs and Americans created the Cyprus problem. Americans made this camp to say 'Look! We didn't create any problem. We are just trying to solve it so that they can do different politics...’”

At the end of the 3 weeks the young people created friendships between them and they won't leave each other. They opened their site on the web(cyprusboldleaders.com ). Now they are a 48-people group.

But I ask: "A camp that lasted 3 weeks, how much did it take out of their traditional politics?” I asked so many questions to learn that. But I understood that the two governments are doing strong politics because they fully erase them from their minds.

Government's official speeches can't be broken now by these young people who want peace in Cyprus. But I want to add that those people, who I spoke, question, everything and I loved it because I thought our new generation doesn't question anything... These people will learn everything easily with their ability. If young people could generate our future, everything would be perfect.

3 of August 2005 - Swimming at Larnaka
Swimming at the KOT's beach, lunch all together and.. a workshop about our future plans! Ideas for History Workshop, Meetings with Politicans, Newspaper articles, Tv shows and many more.. The determination for peace in cyprus was shown once again. A great meeting with knowledge and fun!

29 of July 2005 - First Meeting after the Camp
First Meeting! We were all particuallary exciting of seeing all of our family again! We ate traditional kebab and had a walk at the most busy street of tcs's part of Nicosia. It was so great everybody again that we arranged our next meeting as soon as possible.
